One of my favourite things to talk about is my dog Tarsha. Tarsha is a bearded collie-border collie.and Her birthday date is 6 June 2018, Tarsha is a female pup and aloud to have one litter of puppies when she is older. She has three colours on her black white and brown. Tarsha is a farm dog so she moves the cows, and deer, she is also still in training but she is getting there. I train her to not bite.
Tarsha can do some tricks, like jumps and she can also give you kisses and cuddles.I feed her the amount she needs but if I am all ready for bed dad will feed her. Tarsha is very happy where she is living down in the Haupiri.

In the first three weeks of school
In the first three weeks of school we have had lots of things going on we've had pet day, swimming, giving back topic, athletics, Halloween disco and grandparents day.
First we had pet day we had to make a project about your pet I did it on fluffy my lamb. At pet day we had people to judge your pets I got second in the Senior lambs.
We swim every day in the school pool. The pool is very warm and we get free time.
Yesterday we had athletics in Greymouth. I did all the activities except one which was the big long run as I was worried I would get asthma. It was a good day tho.
Last we had a Halloween disco and I went as a panda. It was a good night, my favourite part was the sacry maze.

Little Blues
Last week the penguin trustees came to school and taught us about our native Penguins on the west coast and then we did our writing about our Little Blue Penguin. Here is my writing.
If you want to find out more go to penguins world. And remember that next time you see a little blue make sure that you are out of their environment and KEEP Them SAFE.
Little Blue Penguins
Little blue penguins live on the coastline of New Zealand but they need your help to survive. The little blues are being killed by dogs, cats, cars and us humans. Their size is 30cm tall so the are very easy to hit with your car. The little blue penguins are endangered and they are also the smallest penguin in the whole entire world.
looks
Little blue penguins have pink feet but they go bright pink when they are embarrassed. They also have waterproof feathers so they don’t sink when they are in the water. The oil gland in their tails gives them wax to waterproof their feathers.
Special features of the little blues are
they have light blue on their backs so when a bird looks down it can’t be seen, and white on their bellies so when a shark looks up they blend in with the sky.
They have excellent vision with bright blue eyes. Each eye has two eyelids. One is clear (called a nictitating membrane) and closes over their eyes so when they are under water it works like goggles. And when on the land it works like a windscreen wiper to brush out sand.
The nostrils of the little blues are called nares. When they drink sea water its very salty. So they can spit out the salt from their nares.
Food
Little blues eat fish, squid, sardines and shrimp. They swim 15-75kms for food. there feet helps guide them to swim. The little blue penguins can hold their breath for 124 secs to get their food.
Predators
Little blues predators are dogs, cats, cars, killer whales, sharks, the great white shark, stoats and even us humans are killing them and scaring them to death and that's making them endangered.
If you want to find out more go to penguins world. And remember that next time you see a little blue make sure that you are out of their environment and KEEP Them SAFE.

Today is the fun run but this year we get to wear our onesie or mufti. The fun run is to raise money for our school and so we can go on camps. I am wearing my cat onesie with white spots. I piked my cat onesie because I thought my sister was going to be a grey mouse. Here is a photo of me and my friends in our onesies.

Anzac Day
In room 5 we made a poem about Anzac Day and the soldiers that died in war. Here it is.
At dawn this all began our lives were ruined
Bags around our face to keep us safe until the bombs came in and destroyed us all
The guns were loud so I could not get to sleep
I got up and started to shoot at the other side
Remember me, remember us at Flanders Fields
where we lie in poppies and there we die.
I hold my hat up high to trick the other side
But then this battle ended nearly every soldier lay in Flanders
Fields where poppies grow and were we die.
